Gotcha began in 2017 in Australia with a simple but bold idea: To elevate bubble tea from a quick street-side drink to a premium, crafted experience.

At a time when few believed in "premium bubble tea," our founder Roger Fu saw an opportunity. “People were starting to care about what’s in their drink and how it’s made,” he recalls. “We take bubble tea seriously.”

With a background in mechanical engineering and industrial design, Roger set out to reinvent the process. He developed Gotcha’s signature brewing and quick-shake machine, a game-changer that cools a hot brew in just 0.5 seconds. It wasn’t just about speed; it was about precision, quality, and making every Gotcha cup stand out.

Roger’s vision extended beyond the drink. He personally shaped the look and feel of Gotcha stores to reflect the brand’s values. “We want to create a space of warmth and belonging, where everyone feels welcome,” he says, and that’s exactly what each Gotcha store offers today.
